Message-ID: World Usability Day (WUD) is becoming an important annual initiative for sharing information about best practices in accessible design and exploring usability in general. This year, WUD will take place around the world on November 8, and will feature both local events and webcasts. This year's theme?Healthcare--is particularly conducive to input from accessibility experts. Other hot topics for accessibility presentations could include the Digital Divide and the role of robotics. But most importantly, we need to know what YOU have to say. There are two primary ways to become involved: by sponsoring a local event, and by providing a webcast. Some presenters may wish to do both. * Local events will bring people to your organization, offering you an opportunity to share your work. You can sponsor lectures, demonstrate technologies, or just network with your community. These can be brief, or can last all day. While there is now a small support and materials fee charged to register local events, there is no charge for student-sponsored events, and waiver requests for other events will be considered by the WUD administration. * A webcast is a way of broadcasting an event live on the Internet. Users around the world will see your PowerPoint slides and hear your event?s content on their computers, and will be able to participate by text. Webcast Committee members will be available to help you before and during the event. There is no charge to register a webcast. To register an event, and for more information about WUD, please see www.worldusabilityday.org.
